Does God Exist? The Bible teaches that God exists and that Jesus Christ is the Creator. “All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3). Interesting note: God created the heaven and the earth in Genesis 1:1 In John 1:3, Jesus is the Creator of all things. Any question as to whether Jesus is God is put to rest with these 2 verses.

Is God interested in good and evil? “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:14)

Are God’s standards the same as those of mankind? “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Does God punish sin? God is just and will punish sin, “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)

What are the Ten Commandments and where did they come from?

The Ten Commandments are God’s basic moral law. The Bible tells us they were given by God to Moses: “And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.” (Exodus 31:18)

You shall have no other gods before Me.

You shall not make idols.

You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain.

Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Honor your father and mother.

You shall not murder.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness.

You shall not covet.

Do you believe God will judge a person by the Ten Commandments? Since it’s impossible to keep the Ten Commandments, it’s impossible to be justified by them.  The Law (The Ten Commandments) reveals our guilt.  Our justification comes through faith in Jesus Christ: John 3:18 says “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already.”  Galatians 2:16 says “A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.”

How many of God’s Ten Commandments must a person break before they are considered guilty? James 2:10 says “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

God’s plan for your salvation (Eternal Life)

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Anyone can repent, trust in Jesus Christ for their salvation, and they shall be saved.” (2 Peter 3:9)

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (I John 5:13).

Recognize that you are a sinner: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

                                                                                             What is Sin?

Sin is anything you do that disobeys God. This makes you a sinner. Do you agree with that? We were actally born into sin because of Adam. “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19)

The payment (wages) for sin is death.

“For the wages of sin is death…” (Rm. 6:23) You will die one day because of your sin. “But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

God will send the sinner to hell because He is holy and will not allow one sin into Heaven.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

Jesus’ blood is the only way to have your sins washed away

Jesus is God, He humbled Himself and came down to this earth in the form of a man. He lived a sinless life for thirty-three and one-half years. When men became jealous of Jesus they brought up false charges against him and crucified Him on a cross. Jesus died and was buried in a tomb, but three days later He raised Himself from the dead.

John 10:17–18 says, “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.”

The only thing that can wash away your sin is the blood of Jesus. He suffered more than any other man to restore our relationship with God.

In the garden, He sweat drops of blood, a rare medical condition caused by extreme stress.

He was arrested, struck in the face, blindfolded and mocked, beaten, spat upon, and scourged. Not just a typical whipping, but one with metal balls that ripped His skin, tore flesh from His body, and exposed His muscles.

They mocked Him, stripped Him, placed a scarlet robe on Him, and a crown of thorns on His head. They gave Him a reed for a scepter and knelt before Him, mocking Him even more.

After all that, He had to carry His own cross until He could no longer continue. Simon of Cyrene carried it the rest of the way.

They removed His robe, ripping open His wounds, and nailed Him to a tree, driving seven-inch nails through His wrists and then His feet. He struggled to breathe and hung there for six hours in extreme pain.

He was perfect and spotless: “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things…
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1Peter 1:18-19)
“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)

Because God does not want to see anyone go to hell.

He would have sent Jesus Christ to do this even if you had been the only one in need of saving! That shows how great God’s love truly is.

“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” (Romans 5:9)

                                                                                                 God’s Gift

Your good deeds cannot save you from hell.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:9)

Some common works that cannot save you are:

Being baptized (Remember, only the blood of Jesus can wash away sin.)

Keeping the Ten Commandments (In God’s eyes, if you break one, you are guilty of breaking them all! For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10)

Joining a church (Religion is basically man’s attempt to reach God, and it is hopeless. Salvation is God’s attempt to reach man, and this is man’s only hope to be with God.)

                                                                                                  Repent

“For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” II Cor. 7:10

Are you sorry that you are a sinner and are you willing to turn to God to have Him forgive you and take your sins away?

Trust Jesus as your Saviour by faith

If you agree with what you have just read, then all you need to do is say it in prayer to God. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

                                                                                             Sinner’s Prayer

Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and unless you save me, I am lost forever. I come to you the best way I know how, believing you died for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life, and am asking that you save me. I receive you as my Saviour and trust you to forgive and justify me. Thank you for saving
